I am making a music video!
In case you need a catch up, I kind of gave up. After years of project after project in film and tv not getting picked up, I finally said fuck it and went live on TikTok. Encouraged by others I had seen on there doing their thing, I thought, what have I got to lose? And I started to rap this past November.
Five months later and I’ve had 4M+ people watch my live shows on that app. Have added 110k followers on TT and 110k followers on IG where my reels have had close to 10M views, not to mention other videos of me screen recorded in my lives that have also gone viral, to the tune of another 10M views. I think I finally realized it was real when I got recognized at the DMV the other day, asked for an autograph (and got out of taking a test to renew my license - rapping has its privileges). Virtually everywhere I go people are showing me love, asking for photos or just looking at me super weird. This is very strange, and I could write an entire thesis about it at this point, but that is not why I’ve called you all here today. I have an exciting project that I am creating and I need your help!
I mean, I post content every day, but for this project I want to make a more traditional video to post both vertically and horizontally with some killer costumes, hair and all around debauchery. The song is called I’m Through with Love and it’s inspired by Marilyn Monroe’s cover of said song from the 50s. It will be funny, it will be wierd, and it will make people uncomfortable.
Since I don’t yet have a brand partner (know anyone?), I am reaching out to you beautiful people to see if you’d be interested in supporting this latest endeavour as you have with so many in the past.
I am raising $5k to cover the costs of camera, hmu, wardrobe, and food for the shoot.
