As a member you get live bi-weekly business Q&A sessions, morning motivation sessions, and a bi-weekly creative support group - on top of accessing the on demand Time Trampoline course.
We don’t give notes, or force collaboration.
We ask questions, inspire, and share our experiences.
An on-demand course in Time Management for multi-hyphenate artists that takes a gentle, holistic approach to living a sustainable creative life.
Hi! I’m Mandy May Cheetham, I’m an actor, writer, rapper, filmmaker, choreographer, showrunner, Mom, teacher, candlestick maker (well, not yet, but I did make some body butter once and thought it would be a good idea to put black pepper essential oil into all three batches - I sneeze a lot now, but my skin is soft). I’ve sold shows to networks that I wrote and star in and done just, well, all the things. I get it. I have also been on a spiritual journey since the early 90s, and I believe that spirituality and business and creative practice need to work together to help artists build sustainable careers. I’m great at translating complicated information into clear terms, and I think I can help you find more joy and play in your work.
I need you to fall in love with your creative life.
To wake up excited for what you get to do today.
I need you to do that because I can not be creative if I am not being fed and inspired by the creativity of my peers.
Every creative act you engage in feeds into the ether. The source of all of our creativity is each other, and there are a great many more who need to be fed by that source than there are those who are making thoughtful contributions to it.
While we are all creative in little ways every day, some of us are called to be a larger source of creative energy than others.
You know who you are.
We are walking out of the most traumatic series of events that our generation has collectively experienced.
We are creating to heal our trauma, and we are creating to help the world come through this healed.
This is a pivotal moment in your lives and in the collective life we all share.
It is imperative that you sit down at the computer, or show up at the easel, or read that play right now.
And as many creatives know…
This is easier said than done.
The Time Trampoline is a system I’ve developed through experimentation to help me overcome the land mines of living a creative life such as:
Procrastination
Imposter Syndrome
Comparing yourself to others
Discounting your past successes and accomplishments
(Shit) Talking yourself out of your creative ideas.
Constantly starting new projects.
Frantically inventing businesses (or looking for day jobs) to avoid your creative work.
Valuing your contributions to the world through very skewed metrics.
The Time Trampoline was developed using the principles of courses such as The Artist’s Way and Marianne Williamson’s teachings of A Course in Miracles, and current neuroscience (check out Dr. Andrew Hubermann and his studies on dopamine), and combines these teachings with a practical system to aid in the process of creation, and leading a sustainable creative life.
Artists have very romantic ideas about the process of creating. While the Time Trampoline system can ignite bursts of creative energy that can help us move quickly through a project, it also helps us through the down times, when our confidence is low, when the money is tight, or when we just feel like everything we make is crap.
Through the Time Trampoline Sessions you will find:
CLARITY: Learn what to focus on now, and why you want to focus on it.
EASE: Learn to have less anxiety about your to do list.
FOCUS: Learn how to find the flow state in everything you do, and the barriers you are putting up to getting there.
ACTION: A daily practice to spend your days the way you want to be spending your life.
Over 4 weeks you will create a Time Trampoline for yourself that will change the way you approach your creative life forever. It is a system that keeps the negative self talk at bay, and helps you show up to do the work you were sent here to do.
The Time Trampoline is currently only available to Pickford members, so you get access to both when you sign up. A community of multi-expressive artists working mainly in film and tv. As a member you will have access to weekly Q&A sessions focused on living balanced creative lives, industry intel sessions with execs and those working in the industry, and support for your work with your Time Trampoline.
If you’re interested in replacing your doubt with action, please join us free for 7 days and let’s see if we can help you create every day.
“The world needs you to be shining your creative light. Now, more than ever.”
MANDY MAY CHEETHAM
Pickford Founder, Multi-Hyphenate Artist, and Creator of the Time Trampoline
Mandy is the creator and star of MUTHA, part of Rachel Dratch's Late Night Snack on truTV and HBOmax, and Creator and host of Rapping with Actors on Bell tv1 and Amazon Prime. She is a multi-award winning actress and rapper (yes, she has won rap awards). Her writing has been published in actual, physical magazines, and she has been recognized as one of the top 50 writers on medium on the topic of feminism. She is the creator and host of the podcast Going Gray in Tinseltown.
Prior to her career in entertainment, she founded an international cheerleading company which she ran for 10 years in 14 countries. Her company sold uniforms internationally and ran summer camps and competitions for globally competitive teams. She coached National and World Champion teams in Finland, Sweden, China, the UK and Canada.
She has worked as a business, marketing and sales consultant for 20 years across the worlds of sports, entertainment and fine art.
AND SHE STILL NEEDED TO CREATE THIS SYSTEM FOR HERSELF TO COPE WITH HER TIME MANAGEMENT ISSUES!
It's not that she feels she mis-manages her time (ok, you know it's me writing this now), the issue is I feel it is hard to balance the day to day earning requirements of being an artist with the amount of time it takes to properly gestate what I want to create and still feel inspired, and like things are getting accomplished - especially in film and tv, where it just takes YEARS to bring a project to fruition.
AND, most evil of all - the voice of what I call the Jabberwocky, the one telling me this isn't going to make money, or no one will want it, or that everyone in the industry is doing it this way or that way. I got to a point where I knew I could not create AND listen to those voices at the same time. Especially as my projects get bigger with larger budgets.
This system helped me keep the voices at bay, feel safe to indulge my creative whims, AND get the practical shit done, all while feeding me little shots of dopamine to keep me interested and engaged in all these slow burn projects.
* I want to build an army of creators who just keep making art. The world is a mess, and we are the front lines of change. Art, writing, theatre, music, film and tv have the power to CHANGE THE WORLD. We need you creating and sharing your work. You have the opportunity to live a financially sustainable creative life, so please don't wait.
Do this for yourself now because no one who loves you wants to see you going around in circles between applying for stupid jobs that will hurt your soul, and doing what you were put on this planet to do. CREATE.
Do it for yourself now because you're tired of listening to your own bullshit and you know what your life should look like by now, you just can't see the forest for the trees anymore. But this system will help you find your way back to the things that make your soul sing.
It is time for you to walk you into your light. It is time for you to shine. So press that button (there are like 20 of them on this page), and let's get started already.
